Apices
The setal apex is typically sharply pointed, acuminate. It can be quite acuminate, such as recorded from most setulae, microchaetae and the macrochaetae of Isotoma. The apex can also be less acuminate, such as recorded from the macrochaetae of Tomocerus. The apex can also be rounded or blunt, such as recorded from the macrochaetae of Cyphoderus and Orchesella.
